The Daily Caller has documents which show that left wing opinion journalists have plotted to bury stories about Rev. Jeremiah Wright. Part of this plan includes calling conservatives “racists.”

In April, 2008, Charlie Gibson of ABC News asked Obama why it took him almost a year to dissociate himself from Wright’s fiery remarks. George Stephanopoulos asked Obama if he thought Wright loved America as much as he did.

Watching this all at home were members of Journolist, a listserv comprised of several hundred liberal journalists, as well as like-minded professors and activists. The tough questioning from the ABC anchors left many of them outraged. Richard Kim of the site The Nation even called Stephanopoulos “a disgusting little rat snake.”

According to records obtained by The Daily Caller, at several points during the 2008 presidential campaign a group of liberal journalists took radical steps to protect their favored candidate. Employees of news organizations including Time, Politico, the Huffington Post, the Baltimore Sun, the Guardian, Salon and the New Republic participated in outpourings of anger over how Obama had been treated in the media, and in some cases plotted to fix the damage.

Said Michael Tomasky, writer for the Guardian: “we all have to do what we can to kill ABC and this idiocy in whatever venues we have.”

Said Spencer Ackerman of the Washington Independent:

If the right forces us all to either defend Wright or tear him down, no matter what we choose, we lose the game they’ve put upon us. Instead, take one of them — Fred Barnes, Karl Rove, who cares — and call them racists. Ask: why do they have such a deep-seated problem with a black politician who unites the country? What lurks behind those problems? This makes *them* sputter with rage, which in turn leads to overreaction and self-destruction.

Other journalists involved include Thomas Schaller (Baltimore Sun), Jonathan Stein (Mother Jones), Jared Bernstein, Holly Yeager, Joe Conason, David Greenberg (Slate), David Roberts (Grist), and Todd Gitlin (journalism professor).

The words of Minister King Samir Shabazz (aka Maurice Heath), the New Black Panther Party’s Philadelphia leader:

“I hate white people – all of them! Every last iota of a cracker, I hate ‘em! Through South Street with white, dirty, cracker whore [expletive] on our arms. And we call ourselves black men with African garb on.
What the hell is wrong with you, black man? You [inaudible] with a white girl on your damn arm!
You want freedom? You’re gonna have to kill some crackers! You’re gonna have to kill some of their babies!”

Shabazz is the guy from the intimidation incident in Philadelphia on Election Day 2008, the man that the Obama administration Department of Justice refused to prosecute after he was filmed with another man, Jerry Jackson, wearing paramilitary uniforms, carrying a nightstick and blocking a doorway to a polling location.

First, here’s how the Washington Post describes “Deem and Pass”:

After laying the groundwork for a decisive vote this week on the Senate’s health-care bill, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi suggested Monday that she might attempt to pass the [Senate health care bill] without having members vote on it. Pelosi would rely on a procedural sleight of hand: The House would vote on a more popular package of fixes to the Senate bill; under the House rule for that vote, passage would signify that lawmakers “deem” the health-care bill to be passed. The tactic — known as a “self-executing rule” or a “deem and pass” — has been commonly used, although never to pass legislation as momentous as the $875 billion health-care bill. It is one of three options that Pelosi said she is considering for a late-week House vote, but she added that she prefers it because it would politically protect lawmakers who are reluctant to publicly support the measure.

As Pelosi says:

“It’s more insider and process-oriented than most people want to know, but I like it, because people don’t have to vote on the Senate bill.”

Oh yeah, Pelosi also said: “We have to pass the bill so you can find out what is in it”

Hmm, perhaps the words “Demon Pass” are suitable after all.

“Rahm Emanuel is son of the devil’s spawn, Rep. Eric Massa (D-NY) said. “He is an individual who would sell his mother to get a vote. He would strap his children to the front end of a steam locomotive.”

Rep. Massa describes a confrontation with Emanuel in a shower: “I am showering, naked as a jaybird, and here comes Rahm Emanuel, not even with a towel wrapped around his tush, poking his finger in my chest, yelling at me.”

How they did it is a testament to how ingrained the grip of special interests remains in Washington.

Iran is now a ‘nuclear state’, President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad announced this morning. He spoke as tens of thousands of people took to the streets in Tehran to mark the 31st anniversary of the Islamic revolution. There are fears of violence as opposition and pro-government supporters are expected to meet at rallies in a show of popular strength unmatched since the revolution itself. Today Ahmadinejad told scores of cheering Iranians that the Islamic Republic is capable of producing weapons-grade uranium.
