Recently, a mob killed at least 12 people, including 7 United Nations workers. The victims included 4 Nepalese guards and 3 Europeans from Romania, Sweden and Norway. 5 Afghans were also killed.

Iran is now a ‘nuclear state’, President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad announced this morning. He spoke as tens of thousands of people took to the streets in Tehran to mark the 31st anniversary of the Islamic revolution. There are fears of violence as opposition and pro-government supporters are expected to meet at rallies in a show of popular strength unmatched since the revolution itself. Today Ahmadinejad told scores of cheering Iranians that the Islamic Republic is capable of producing weapons-grade uranium.

“It’s not your business model that sucks, it’s you that sucks.”

It started with this rant by Rick Santelli from CNBC:

This rant at the Chicago exchange was covered all over the mainstream media and the internet blogs. Much ado about nothing – just watch CNBC pat themselves on the back and realize it’s another case of pop eating itself. The message doesn’t mean anything to CNBC (maybe not even Santelli) but the style of delivery is important. Anyway, Santelli mentioned something about a tea party. Other people took that line and ran with it. One of those people is blogger Michelle Malkin:

There is, as the old ’60s song goes, something happening here. And what it is, is very clear: A grass-roots revolt against the culture of entitlement. The spendzillas in Washington do not speak for us.
